The ultra-sharp I-Series SIGMA 65mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary.
A compact, short telephoto prime that offers mirrorless camera users a breathtaking photographic experience.
The SIGMA I-Series is a series of compact, beautifully designed high-performance lenses for mirrorless camera systems. Part of the first collection is this high-quality SIGMA 65mm Lens for everyday use, which expands the Contemporary product line. It combines excellent resolving power with a small body that is perfectly weighted for mirrorless systems.

A 65mm Lens has long been used by photography enthusiasts and is also popular for filming. At 65mm, it provides a slightly more compressed perspective than standard lenses and opens up a variety of creative approaches for both photography and filmmaking.

This ultra-sharp 65mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary can capture fine details cleanly even at full aperture F2 and produces a large and round bokeh.

What's more, this lens is a pleasure to use and own, with its pure metal body, as is the case with every I-Series lens, and a design that has been carefully considered for feel and even sound quality of operation.

I-Series|Anew photographic experience - "Premium Compact Primes" for mirrorless camera users
The SIGMA I-Series includes full-frame compatible lenses that provide mirrorless system users with new and better alternatives - both in terms of the working experience with the lens and the impressive image results.

Mirrorless cameras have the advantage that they can be kept small and compact. This new 65mm lens is perfectly matched to these compact systems without compromising on performance. The combination of outstanding optical quality and exceptional portability, previously unavailable in this form with DSLR systems, offers new possibilities for current and future generations of photographers.

We have an enormous variety in the choice of shooting tools these days, as the example of the smartphone shows. Therefore, SIGMA is aware that people are looking for something more than the act of "taking pictures" when they choose a camera with interchangeable lenses. Since its foundation in 1961, SIGMA's outstanding development and processing technologies have been further expanded and further developed with the introduction of SIGMA Global Vision in 2012. SIGMA is constantly thinking about how photographers use and value their lenses - including optical design, advanced functionality, build quality and the experience of shooting and using the lenses. And so the I-Series was born from these careful considerations.

2.
New standards of optical performance for the Contemporary product line
The 65mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary delivers the highest optical performance at an aperture of F2 with a compact lens body that is perfectly designed for mirrorless systems.

Longitudinal color aberrations, which are more common in medium telephoto and telephoto lenses and cannot be effectively corrected by the camera, are properly corrected by the use of SLD glass so that details can be captured in absolute sharpness. The use of two high-precision, bright-molded aspherical glass lenses corrects spherical and comatic aberrations as well as astigmatism. At the same time, this makes it possible to keep the lens construction small. A combination of the latest optical design with advanced processing technology rounds everything off and helps the 65mm F2 DG DN | Contemporary to achieve its outstanding optical performance and compact size.

Thanks to the successful control of spherical aberration, the Lens delivers wonderful bokeh and the very low vignetting helps to contain lemon-shaped or swirling bokeh. This gives photographers much better control over the out-of-focus areas in their images for composition. Last but not least, SIGMA's standard Anti-Ghosting and Anti-Flare technology ensures high-end backlit performance.

3.
Exceptional I-Series build quality in a compact form
All I-Series Lens feature an all-metal construction. The precision-cut aluminum parts not only give the barrel a sleek, stylish finish, but also provide excellent durability that enhances the quality of the entire product. Metal materials are also used for the internal construction, which harmonize with the operating rings for added robustness. These high-precision components, manufactured using SIGMA's latest metal processing technology and also used in the cine lens range for professional filmmakers, offer an exquisite feel and barely perceptible operating noise, making photographers want to use them again and again.

The cover ring between the focus and aperture rings is manufactured to fit precisely, as is the case with the manufacture of the rear cylinders of the Art line. This cover provides a good grip when attaching or removing the Lens.

Hands on the new Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS S

Sigma's 70-200 f/2.8 is a strong competitor to lenses from Sony and Panasonic. The attractive price of €1,699 RRP makes the Sigma a worthwhile alternative, especially in comparison to the 70-200 2.8 from Panasonic and Sony's new G-Master, which is significantly more expensive.
