The Rollei F:X Pro Reverse GND 8 (3 stops/0.9) is a gray graduated filter. GND stands for graduated neutral density, which means a filter with a transition from tint to transparency. These filters are partially coated in neutral gray, which can compensate for differences in brightness in the image. Normally, the coating of GND filters would fade to one side. Reverse, however, means that the course of the tint (coating) is reversed. This means that the coating is applied particularly strongly in the center of the filter and runs out softly to one side of the filter - but very hard to the other side.

Reverse GNDs can be used for these motifs:
Sunrise and sunset
Beach motifs
Motifs with a horizon where there is a lot of brightness in the center

GNDs are used (unlike normal ND filters) for motifs where the brightness ratios have a certain gradient and therefore require different exposures for an evenly exposed image. Ideal use of a Reverse GND would be, for example, a picture where the sun is visible and where clear lines dominate the picture.

Our Reverse GND 8 exists in 100 and 150 millimeter sizes and has a density of 0.9 and 3 stops. One stop means that the amount of light hitting the sensor is reduced by one f-stop at a time.

Exemplary color fidelity with extremely fine coating
Are you looking for reflection-free filters? Then you've found them at Rollei. Our F:X Pro filters are 99.5 percent free of unwanted light reflections.

To ensure that we can permanently rule out these defects in our new professional filters, we have developed the "Engineered And Quality Controlled in Germany" quality management procedure. This procedure does not only take effect at the final quality control, but already starts in the development phase: Rollei's specifications are the sole basis for all subsequent production steps and are exclusively determined by our experts. Backward-looking reductions in our requirements are ruled out.
